Six Day Cruises

On our six day cruises we intend to
spend our
time sailing around the islands taking every opportunity to go ashore and see
and enjoy the wildlife.
Most passages allow us plenty of time later in the day to walk ashore and
explore, although we are often delayed when we see interesting wildlife such as
whales, dolphins or basking sharks. There is lots of bird
activity at sea, and some of the best seabird nesting colonies in
the UK are available to us; Rum, Canna, the Treshnish Isles. Our
longer trips allow visits to Mingulay, the Shiants and of
course St Kilda.

We may also be able to visit some of the more inaccessible parts of the mainland
such as Lochs Hourn and Nevis, and other isolated places such as Coruisk on
Skye. Further south we may visit Iona for its scenery and religious and historic
interest, and perhaps Colonsay and Isla or the isolated lochs of Jura.
Wherever we go we will see the most marvellous scenery and wildlife - whales and
dolphins, sharks and seals, otters and deer, and visit some of Britain's best
bird watching sites. The profusion of flowers that are to be seen on the machair
islands is also stunning ; there are many varieties of orchids as well as other
beautiful wild plants but it is the profusion of colour which is most striking.
All the time there is the opportunity for some fantastic
photography and even painting for the artistic spirit! Otherwise you can take
time to just relax and let the world go by whilst enjoying excellent food,
good company and wonderful scenery.

Each evening we
hope to stay in an isolated bay or anchorage to enjoy a peaceful evening and
perhaps watch the the sun sink below the horizon in a myriad of colours. We
always lie at anchor, and only in
exceptional circumstances will we stay overnight in a busy harbour.
